John Fitzgerald
John Fitzgerald became National Patron of the Bone Growth Foundation in 1993. John speaks of his experience with the Bone Growth Foundation as being one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.
John's greatest career highlights, aside from his time spent as patron of the Bone Growth Foundation, came during the 11 years he represented Australia in the Davis Cup - playing in 3 finals including the memorable wins over Sweden in both the 1983 and 1986 finals at Kooyong. He represented his country in two Olympic Games (Seoul and Barcelona), won 6 ATP Tour singles titles, won 30 ATP tour doubles titles (which included 7 Grand Slams) and received the Order of Australia medal in 1993 for services to tennis.
He was selected by Tennis Australia to become Australia's Davis Cup captain in 2001, becoming only the fourth Australian captain in the past 60 years.
